Chiropractic & Athletic Performance

Michael J. ParalovosDC

Michael J. Paralovos, DC, is a chiropractor whose practice joins spinal and manual care with athletic performance, built on years working inside professional sport.

Dr. Paralovos completed his Doctor of Chiropractic prerequisites at Life University’s school of arts and sciences before entering its College of Chiropractic, graduating in 2006. He attended on an ice hockey scholarship and played on two national championship teams, in 2001 and 2002.

From 2013 to 2020 he served as team chiropractor for the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, across years the club was affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Carolina Hurricanes, and the Nashville Predators. He established his practice, Total Health of Naples, in 2012, after working in large group practices on Florida’s east coast.

He is a distinguished fellow of Chiropractic Biophysics, a TPI certified golf fitness instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute, a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a USA Hockey level 2 coach. He is pursuing a fellowship in functional neurology through the Carrick Institute and is board eligible for the diplomate in chiropractic neurology through the American Chiropractic Neurology Board.

As a member of the Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Paralovos contributes a chiropractic and performance perspective grounded in the professional locker room — spinal and manual care, conditioning, injury prevention, and what it actually takes to return a competitive athlete to play.

Elite Sports Recovery & Human Performance

Christopher PikoskyLMT

Christopher Pikosky, LMT, is a licensed massage therapist with more than twenty years of work alongside elite athletes across the NHL, NFL, professional tennis and golf, and Olympic competition.

From 2010 through 2014 he served on the full-time medical and training staff of the Los Angeles Kings as team massage therapist, working more than 370 NHL games across a period that included the organization’s 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cup championship seasons. He was named to the Team USA medical and training staff for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, and was selected by the USTA to treat the American main-draw players at the 2014 US Open.

Earlier, he spent twelve seasons and more than 500 home games with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, and was brought in by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head athletic trainer to work with players through the week of Super Bowl XLIII. He has worked ATP and WTA tour events and treated Grand Slam champions from the US Open, Wimbledon, the Australian Open and Roland-Garros, and NFL and Olympic athletes at an elite performance camp run by a three-time Super Bowl–winning conditioning coach.

He founded Naples Medical Massage in 2014, continues to treat NHL all-stars at offseason skills camps, and has worked with Olympic figure skaters including pairs medalists from the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. The same protocols travel outside sport: principal dancers from American Ballet Theatre, Miami City Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance, musicians from the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Naples Philharmonic, and Grammy-winning recording artists on tour have all been private clients — because, as he puts it, artists are athletes.

Underneath the professional sport is sixteen years and more than 20,000 hands-on hours in an outpatient physical therapy clinic, where he served as assistant director and functional rehabilitation technician treating orthopedic, neurological, sports, and age-related injury alongside physicians, physical and occupational therapists, strength coaches, and chiropractic physicians.

As a member of the Medical Advisory Board, Pikosky contributes what that combination produces: a recovery and manual-therapy perspective formed in the training room and disciplined in the clinic, with particular insight into how a new modality is actually received by the people who have to deliver it and the athletes who have to trust it.

Seat held

Podiatric Medicine & Surgery

A seat held for a doctor of podiatric medicine — foot and ankle surgery, sports podiatry, and limb care — the perspective the board does not yet carry.

Multidisciplinary perspective

Innovation in regenerative medicine does not exist within a single specialty.

Orthopedic surgeons see the structural realities of injury and degeneration. Rehabilitation professionals understand the path from treatment to restored function. Performance specialists understand the demands placed on the human body at its highest levels. Physicians focused on preventive and hormonal health contribute perspective across healthspan, aging, and quality of life.

The Standard Associates Medical Advisory Board is designed to bring these perspectives together.

This multidisciplinary approach helps us evaluate emerging science not only by what is technologically possible, but by how innovation may ultimately intersect with physicians, patients, athletes, clinical workflows, recovery, and real-world human performance.

The Medical Advisory Board serves in an advisory capacity. Board membership does not imply that individual members provide medical care through The Standard Associates or endorse every product, service, technology, research program, or statement of the company. A seat shown as held describes a specialty the board is seeking, not an appointment: nobody should be understood to have accepted a position or endorsed anything until a card carries their name.
